There is SO much excitement in our house right now! Has anyone in your family caught on to the Little Moons and Mochi craze over the last year? Well, it’s been non-stop pleading in this house! First, it was please, please, PLEASE can we have them? Once I caved in and agreed, at first, I found I couldn’t get any for love nor money, and then when they were available, it was just my luck that the ones in stock contained dairy! Grrrr! However, when I was browsing the frozen section in Aldi, I got really excited. Not only do they have a large range of dairy-free ice-creams they also have they also stock Mochi!
Dairy-Free Mochi in Aldi
I guess they must be very popular in Aldi as there is a limit of three boxes you can buy in one transaction. There are three flavours but only two are dairy-free. These are the Tropical and Mango flavours. They only had the Mango one in stock, so we went with that. They carry a may contain for dairy so may not be suitable for everyone. However, we found a lot of their dairy-free ice creams and some sorbet which do not have a may contain warning. These were very popular in our house when we taste-tested them. I’ll definitely be going back for more! Even the man of the house approved and he has not been so keen on other brands of mochi.
Other Dairy-Free Ice creams and lollies in Aldi
There is a wide range of dairy-free ice creams and lollies in Aldi and the good news is that there are lots that do not have a may contain warning for dairy! So, here’s a quick round-up of what I saw today.
Three types of dairy-free ice cream:
Chocolate Brownie*
Salted Caramel*
Peanut Butter*
*These are dairy-free but carry a may contain warning for nuts. You should always check the label as products can change.
Dairy-Free Ice Cream Lollies (3 x 90ml per box)
Forest Fruits*
Salted Caramel*
Chocolate*
*These are dairy-free but carry a may contain warning for nuts. You should always check the label as products can change.
Having bought the Wao Mochi today, we’ll have to go back to stock up and try some of the other choices! If you are looking for dairy-free ice creams, you might want to check Aldi for yourself!
